Our Staff Team

  • Our committed and caring leaders provide Summer Camp experiences in which the accomplishments of each person is valued and celebrated

  • We have high expectations when it comes to each and every staff member, and those are reflected in our hiring approach. Potential staff members, including those previously employed at Boomerang, submit an application each year to join the staff team. Each person has an interview and must successfully complete a VSS check. 

  • The campers are at the very center of everything at Boomerang. Our excellent staff to camper ratio (1:8 on average) means that every camper receives consistent individual attention every day. We know this is the key to campers succeeding and having fun in both our instructional programs and daily recreational activities.

Currently Hiring:

 

1. Cabin Counsellors 

 

Requirements: Must be 16 (turning 16 in 2023) or older to apply 

Those under 16 are welcome to apply and volunteer.

 

Job Description: Acting as a primary leader, role model and mentor to a group of campers of a certain age group. Cabin counsellors stay with the same campers all day and rotate with their group to various activities

 

2. Activity Specialists

 

Requirements:  Must be 16 (turning 16 in 2023) or older to apply 

Those under 16 are welcome to apply and volunteer.

Job Description: Teaches an activity to a variety of camper groups. Activity specialists have campers of all ages rotate through their specialty. Specialties include:  Dance, Drama, Gymnastics, Music, Soccer, Badminton, Beach Volleyball, Martial Arts, Basketball, Archery, Mad Science, Fitness, Nature, Survival, Rock Climbing, Magic, Filmmaking 

 

3. One on one Counsellor

 

Requirements: Must be 16 (turning 16 in 2023) or older to apply 

 

Job Description: A counsellor to a camper who requires additional support. This camper is part of a cabin group and the one on one counsellor works with the group counsellors to ensure a successful camp experience for their camper. 

4. Front Desk Receptionists 

Requirements: Must be 17 (turning 17 in 2023) or older to apply 

Job Description: Answer Parent phone calls and emails,  organize and prepare daily schedules and programming

5. Camp Nurse

Requirements: Must hold current nursing qualifications or be in school for nursing

Job Description:  A team of experienced nurses who care for the medical needs of all the campers and staff and are the first ones to respond to any Medical related emergencies at camp

6. Head Counsellors and Camp Coordinators

Requirements: Must be 18 (turning 18 in 2023) or older to apply 

Job Description: Team leads who Supervise a group of counselling or activity staff.  Acts as a mentor towards staff to work with them to constantly learn, grow and improve in their jobs. Additionally, acts as a liaison representing camp to camp parents.
